|Bringing Back Holleywood||
Twelve snowy inches and more to come. Thanks to Lindsey for this shot of one of the driveway gateposts, lovely portrait of a New England winter eve.
I'd never heard the term before. But when area is hit with 15 inches of snow, the contractor (who already seems as emotionally invested in the house as I am, though we haven't closed yet) calls to say that he's worried that a roof might cave in under the weight." After some back and forth with the seller (who lives in Michigan) a "roof raker" is found to clear off the snow. Roof rakers are working around the clock in the area, apparently. On drives back and forth to the country, Donald and I begin to notice how many ladders are leaned up against houses.
who we are
We are a couple of Upper West Siders from NYC who never set out to buy an old mansion in Connecticut. But the moment we walked through its massive front door, we were smitten. The info on this site is earnestly cobbled from a variety of sources, including the web. Please let us know if we've gotten something wrong, or if there's a story about Holleywood you'd like to share.
